Except there is no "value" in forcing ACC schools to play @UConn

like there is with Notre Dame. Whatever "value" ESPN decides to place on games @UConn will not come close to the current value placed on CFA Kickoff Classic or made-for-TV neutral site games (i.e. FSU vs. Ole Miss @ Orlando, Battle for Bristol, VT vs. USC/Boise State @ FedEx, etc).

VT has played UConn 2 times (both at home) and Miami has played UConn 1 time (at home). While Clemson and FSU has never played UConn in football. Even Louisville has only played UConn 1 time as an OOC game and that was at home. Until these 5 football schools start play games @UConn in East Hartford, then I believe there will be little to no support for considering UConn as a full or partial member in the ACC (which also includes any Notre Dame-like deal anyone can imagine).

I am not even sure those 5 schools would agree to add UConn if it also meant adding Notre Dame too because UConn doesn't bring anything to the football table except another mouth to feed. I firmly believe if the ACC is going to add a 16th member, then those 5 schools will strongly want that member to be strong in both sports not just basketball. Navy might be the only school those 5 would be willing to add as a condition to adding Notre Dame as a full member. Also, they will want to have some sort of history with that member because it will make it a lot easier to build a rivalry (which only strengthen the perception of the ACC as a football conference). Right now the only school on the east coast that fits that profile is WVU. However, I am not sure how strongly those 5 schools feel about adding WVU because of all the "issues" that prevent WVU from being a "good fit" in the ACC.

I do know that if the ACC somehow forces the addition of UConn without the support of the 5 football schools or at least appeasing them somehow, then it could force them to "explore their options" when the GoR starts to get close to its expiration date. If 1-2 schools decide to leave the ACC, then it could create a domino effect where the remaining football schools decide to leave too.
